Key Projects
Priest Rapids Turbine and Generator Renovation
The task of refurbishing the 10 generating units began in 2016 and is anticipated to continue through 2027.
Benefits
The project includes refurbishing the original turbines and generating equipment at Priest Rapids dam. These units date to the late 1950s, when the dam was built, but have received maintenance and repairs over the years. The work will extend their lives by at least another 50 years and enable them to generate about 3.5 percent more electricity with the same amount of water.
